FAQs
What does a Life Coach do?
A Life Coach provides a safe and encouraging space for you to define how you would like to improve your life. We will work to create positive goals that are both forward-thinking and inspiring. A Life Coach will listen deeply and ask challenging and thought-provoking questions so you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself. A Life Coach will also assist you by helping you break down your goals into manageable, bite-sized chunks that you can easily implement. A Life Coach will help facilitate the change that you want to see in yourself.
What doesn’t a Life Coach do?
Life Coaching is not counselling or therapy. The best way to describe this is that Life Coaching mainly focuses on the now and the future. We will not be diving deeply into the past to facilitate healing or focus on any significant current mental, emotional or psychological issues that require therapeutic intervention as I am not qualified to do so. Life Coaching is also not mentoring or consulting. Coaching is about empowering clients to create their own pathways and for the coach to act as a facilitator, cheerleader, and encourager.
Do you have discounts?
Yes! Transparent pricing is important to me and I want to make sure that anyone who would like to be coached, can be coached. I offer the first session for FREE and at an average rate of £40 per session after that. I also offer discounted packages. If you are concerned you can’t afford a session and would still like to be coached, please message me and we can try to work something out!
What is the first session like?
In a first session we take a birds-eye view of your life. We will discuss your strengths, goals, and desires. We will also decipher areas of your life you have goals in, and we explore each area in depth. An initial session is important for setting up future sessions, but what you decide is the most important thing to focus on in the first session, does not mean we will solely focus on that aspect of your life or that goal. In a session, you lead. You decide what route we are going to go down. Sessions are all about you and what you want to get out of them.
Why did you start coaching?
Helping people has always brought me so much joy in my life. I was motivated to become a coach because I knew the skills I would learn would help me on my path to helping people in a new way. When I started the MOE course, coaching was not exactly what I expected; it was actually better. I learned that coaching is about using someone’s own desires, motivations, and words to help them thrive in this life. I have also written a blog post about what coaching means to me if you want to hear more about my thoughts on this!
How often should I have a session?
This is up to you. Some people have a set deadline and some want to be coached as they go. Sometimes people who want to be coached have a goal that they have in mind that they want to make strides towards and each step can take some time. Others want to be coached in multiple areas of their life and they have no distinct timeline, but would like to start a path towards their goals and desires. The average time someone is coached for is for 12 sessions over a 3-6 month period. We can chat about what route might be best for you! I find the most effective sessions occur if we meet every week or every two weeks.
